Acceptable Use Policy
LeadX.ai relies on shared infrastructure — Twilio SMS, Google Gmail, Stripe, Supabase. One bad actor can get our accounts suspended, which would knock every other dealer offline. This policy exists to keep that from happening. Violating it is grounds for immediate account suspension.
These rules supplement the Terms of Service. Where this policy and the ToS conflict, the stricter rule wins.
1. SMS sending — consent and compliance
You must have a documented lawful basis to text every recipient on your LeadX contact list. In Canada, that's CASL. In the US, that's TCPA + your state laws. In the UK and EU, that's UK GDPR / ePrivacy.
- Express consent (they opted in to receive messages from you) — preferred.
- Implied consent (existing business relationship, public business listing with the number published for solicitation) — allowed for B2B outreach but with a shorter validity window (CASL: 2 years after the last transaction or 6 months after an inquiry; TCPA: B2B calls/texts on business lines are less restricted but still require opt-out respect).
- Never: purchased lists, scraped consumer numbers, or recipients who have previously opted out.
- Always: identify yourself and your company in the first message. Honor STOP / UNSUBSCRIBE replies within 24 hours — LeadX automatically flags these but the legal duty is on you.
2. Email sending — same standard
- Do not mass-send emails to people who have not asked to hear from you.
- Do not use Gmail's
gmail.sendscope through LeadX to bypass spam filters on behalf of a third party. - Do not use LeadX to send phishing, scams, pyramid schemes, MLM recruitment, or anything that would violate your Gmail account terms.
- If your personal Gmail gets flagged or suspended because of LeadX-initiated sends, we can't get it back. Your account, your liability.
3. AI outreach — human review required
LeadX's AI drafts SMS and emails using Anthropic's Claude. These drafts are starting points, not finished messages. You are responsible for reviewing every AI-generated outbound before it sends.
- Do not auto-send AI output without review unless the destination is clearly a test inbox you control.
- Do not use AI to impersonate a real person who isn't you or a documented team member.
- Do not use AI to generate deceptive content, fake testimonials, or fabricated credentials.
4. Content restrictions
Do not upload, transmit, or store via LeadX:
- Illegal content of any kind
- Content that infringes a third party's intellectual property, trademark, or publicity rights
- Malware, viruses, or code designed to disrupt other systems
- Credit card numbers, social security numbers, or bank account details that belong to someone else
- Medical records, legal filings, or other regulated data classes that LeadX isn't certified to handle (HIPAA, FERPA, PCI level 1, etc.)
5. Infrastructure and rate limits
- Do not attempt to circumvent the 50/day AI-call cap, API rate limits, or seat limits on your plan.
- Do not run automated scripts that load LeadX faster than a human would.
- Do not share a single seat across multiple people. Each person who uses LeadX needs their own seat.
- Do not try to access, probe, or attack other dealers' data. Our RLS will block you; we also log every attempt.
6. Twilio sender reputation
This is the rule most likely to get your account suspended. Please read it.
Every LeadX dealer sends SMS through a Twilio number LeadX provisioned. Twilio watches delivery rates, opt-out rates, and carrier spam complaints at the number level AND at the LeadX account level. If one dealer's traffic triggers carrier filtering, the filter spreads to other LeadX numbers on the same Twilio account.
Thresholds that trigger immediate suspension by us (not waiting for Twilio):
- Opt-out rate above 3% of sent messages in any rolling 7-day window
- Delivery failure rate above 10% in any rolling 7-day window (indicates bad number data — scraped list, stale list, or typos)
- Any carrier-reported spam flag (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Rogers, Bell, Telus all surface these)
- One or more recipient complaints to the FCC, CRTC, or equivalent regulator
7. Gmail / Google Workspace abuse signals
- Bounce rates above 5% in a rolling 7-day window.
- Your connected Gmail account getting flagged by Google's own abuse detection — we can't undo that, and continued LeadX use while you're flagged makes it worse.
- Reply volume to LeadX-sent emails that trends far lower than manual outreach benchmarks — a signal the lists are stale or unconsented.
8. Suspension and appeal
If we suspend your account for an AUP violation, you will receive an email explaining what triggered it. You have 7 days to respond with context. We will review and either reinstate with warnings, require corrective action (list hygiene, consent records, reduced send volume), or permanently close the account.
Permanent closure forfeits any unused subscription prepayment. Setup fees are already non-refundable per the Terms of Service.
9. Your documentation obligations
You must be able to produce, on our request within 5 business days:
- Consent records for any recipient you've messaged (double opt-in receipts, signed contracts, business-card exchange notes, etc.)
- The source of every contact list you imported into LeadX (manual entry, permit feed, referral, etc. — not "I don't remember")
- Your unsubscribe handling workflow for non-LeadX channels (email footer links, SMS STOP handling, physical mail)
10. Reporting abuse
If you receive a LeadX-originated message that looks like spam, phishing, or otherwise violates this policy, email [email protected]. We investigate within 2 business days.
If you are a recipient who wants to stop receiving messages from a specific LeadX dealer, reply STOP to any SMS or click the unsubscribe link in any email — both are legally required to work. If they don't, email [email protected] with the offending message and we will investigate the dealer.
11. Changes
We update this policy when laws change or when we spot new abuse vectors. Material changes get at least 30 days' email notice to dealers. Bug fixes and clarifications can be updated without notice.
